"Daily Christian living is daily Christian dying. The dying I have in mind is the dying of comfort and security and reputation and health and family and friends and wealth and homeland. These may be taken from us at any time in the path of Christ-exalting obedience."

no, but I am feeling all that right now. Today.
Last night one of my friends told me that perhaps the problem is I dont understand that being a Christian is supposed to be hard. That God didnt make it easy on purpose.
but man, life is already hard enough. I am struggling today. This post just fits right in there.
Sometimes. Piper rocks, man.
Death to self really is the heart of the Christian life. A great book on this is Thomas A Kempis "The Imitation of Christ". The book changed my life.
Crucifying the flesh is tough, though. I would say the biggest struggle in my walk with God.
I'll admit, this quote is quite convicting to me personally. This is difficult, but necessary stuff in following Christ.
I read "The imitation of Christ" at the end of last year. It was very powerful. Definately a classic in the way that he cuts to the heart of the matter.
